  • Donation routing is an afterthought

Where your junk goes

Donated, recycled, composted — not dumped.

Every load gets sorted by destination instead of heading to a landfill. Tell the crew which items are donation candidates and they route them with the rest.

Donated

Usable furniture and household goods go to Bridging, Arc’s Value Village, and Savers.

Recycled

Metal to certified recyclers, electronics to R2-certified e-waste facilities, mattresses to certified Minnesota mattress recycling.

Composted

Brush, branches, and compostable yard material routed to certified compost facilities.

The hard stuff

The heavy, awkward items most haulers refuse.

If it's bulky, heavy, or a pain to break down, it's exactly what we're set up for. Text a photo and we'll quote it.

About Dakota Valley

Twin Cities-grown since 2023.

Dakota Valley Junk Removal started in 2023 with one truck serving Uptown Minneapolis and Highland Park St. Paul. The routes now reach the full metro and beyond, but the principles haven't changed: honest pricing, exceptional service, and environmental responsibility.

Donation partners include Bridging, Arc's Value Village, and Savers. Loads are sorted for donation, recycling, and compost through Hennepin, Ramsey, and Dakota County programs instead of heading straight to a landfill.

Locally-owned. The team lives in the same communities it serves — from Edina to Eagan to Northeast Minneapolis. Every job gets the same care, whether it's a Kenwood mansion or a Frogtown bungalow.

FAQ

Quick answers before someone texts.

What is the minimum pickup price?

The minimum pickup price is $85 for eligible curbside or garage pickup. Final pricing depends on volume, weight, dump fees, and specialty disposal.

Why text instead of calling?

A photo tells us more than a phone call ever could. Text a few shots and the crew sends a firm quote and a pickup window — no phone tag, no salesperson, no waiting on hold.

Do you serve my city or county?

Yes. Dakota Valley is set up for all Minnesota cities and counties, with route-aware scheduling based on your location.

When is the soonest you can pick up?

Most pickups are scheduled about two business days out so the crew arrives with the right equipment. Same-day jobs are sometimes available based on crew capacity — text to check.

Do I need to be home during the pickup?

No — as long as the items are accessible at the curb or in the garage. The crew calls before arrival and sends a confirmation photo when the job is complete.

What items do you remove?

Furniture, appliances, mattresses, yard waste, construction debris, exercise equipment, office furniture, and general household items. Larger jobs like hot tubs and estate cleanouts are quoted by request — send photos to start.

What items do you NOT accept?

For safety and legal reasons, hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, pesticides, motor oil), medical waste, asbestos, biological waste, and explosives. If unsure about an item, text a photo first.

Do you recycle or donate items?

Yes. Furniture in good condition goes to Bridging, Arc's Value Village, and Savers. Electronics go to R2-certified recyclers. Mattresses are recycled at certified Minnesota facilities, and compostable yard material goes to certified compost sites.

How long does junk removal take?

Most residential pickups take 30–90 minutes depending on volume. Full estate cleanouts may take 2–4 hours. The crew works efficiently and never rushes — the property is left clean.
