Recycling and Disposal Open Now Near Eagan: Check the Facility Before Driving
“Open now” is only useful when the facility accepts the item in your vehicle. The Dakota County Recycling Zone has published resident hours, while private transfer stations, landfills and recycling businesses set their own schedules. Check both the hours and accepted-material list before leaving.
Dakota County Recycling Zone 2026 hours
Dakota County currently lists resident drop-off hours as Wednesday 9 a.m.–8 p.m., Thursday noon–8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. The facility is at 3365 Dodd Road in Eagan.
The Recycling Zone closes for listed holidays, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Verify the official page because schedules and closures can change.
Open does not mean every item is accepted
The Recycling Zone accepts defined household chemicals, electronics, small appliances and recyclables. It currently does not accept furniture, mattresses, carpet, microwaves, major appliances, water heaters, lumber or yard waste.
For refused materials, use the Dakota County Recycling Guide or call a transfer station before driving. Private facilities may close early, limit residential traffic or reject specific materials even when a map listing says “open.”
Pickup when facility timing does not work
A scheduled pickup can be easier when the item is bulky, a facility is closed, the household lacks a suitable vehicle or several disposal categories are involved. Send photos and receive the written quote before selecting a pickup window.
Hazardous waste must still use an approved program. Junk removal cannot substitute for a closed hazardous-waste facility when chemicals, wet paint, fuel, sharps or medication are involved.
